Written early 2004…
So you wanna know how this site REALLY started? Then you’ve come to the right section. WAY back in 1998, I (Jen) made my very first website. It was called Giddy 4 Joey Fatone, and had a simple layout…no frames, no fancy graphics, and not too much content. I was SO happy when I had 100 hits!
Time went on, and I decided it was time for a change. I started experimenting with frames, and after about a year of Giddy, I changed the name to Joey’s Lair. I must have had at least a dozen different layouts. The content was getting better, and I had the biggest collection of Joey pictures on the net! (Still do!) Traffic FINALLY started to pick up, and I hit 1000 members. Boy, did I feel special!
So I kept updating the Lair and started getting more and more visitors, sometimes 100 in a day. Then, I met the incredible folks at Ntoxicated.com! They hooked me up with a better host, and about a month later, Mia and V started talking about a new Joey domain. I was thrilled when they wanted me to run it!
Due to the unfortunate occurrence involving Mia back in August (edit: she was in a car accident, but came out ok), I found out she wouldn’t be able to help out with the site. But luckily, V was still willing to purchase the domain and transfer everything from the Lair *which ended up having about 6950 hits!* over to JP.net. She is a superstar, and I’m glad to have her as my sidekick!
JoeyPhatone.net was VERY successful from the start! We had just as many fans as Joey! (Uh…almost?) Over 1000 visits the first WEEK! And 10,000+ in less than six months. We were at our prime with incredible layouts galore! And then…the unthinkable happened…
Loyal visitor Cassie IMed me one night and asked what had happened to JoeyPhatone.net. I said, “I don’t know?” So I checked and it had disappeared. I thought it was just a server issue and it would be fine after a little while. WRONG! A whole week went by…and then the start of a new week began. Joey started being on TV a lot and we had NO SITE to update! I don’t know about you guys, but that was certainly an awful week for V and I! So V finally decided to switch servers, and we got back on our feet to make JoeyFatone.net even BETTER than before.
So here I am, and here WE are, another new layout, a new attitude, and the best fans a .com (or .net!) can buy! Keep it Joeified and I hope you guys LOVE JoeyFatone.net!
Peace!
Jen & V
Edit: JF.net went on an extended “hiatus” (lol!) March 2005 and reopened as J-F.com in October 2009.
Wow, this site has been on a hiatus for that long, glad you’re back and hope to see more content soon. I’m glad I choose now to look up Joey’s fansite. ;D
